Each year, your taxes help pay for over 100,000 abortions. That's over $80 million annually that could be used to reduce waiting lists for diagnostic services, life-saving cancer treatments and other legitimate health services.
Abortion is almost never done to save a woman's life. Pregnancy is not a disease and yet, our taxes pay for most abortions, whether they are done in a hospital or in a private, for-profit clinic (in some provinces, only part of the cost of a clinic abortion is covered), simply because women ask for them. Not only that, more than a third of these abortions are done on women who have already had one or more abortions.
If our health care system is in such trouble, as every government in Canada warns, why are we spending millions on this personal choice? |
